COLLAGE | ILLUSTRATION | COMMISSIONED WORK | COLLABORATIONSDAMON LOCKS is a visual artist/illustrator and musician who received his BFA at the School of the Art Institute. His visual aesthetic leans towards the dirty, the antiqued, and the distressed, thus lending a warmth and tactile quality to his printmaking. The processes used to reach these ends enlist media such as drawing, photography, digital manipulation and silk screen. Comic books, punk album covers & show flyers and a short stint doing graffiti were early inspirations on his work. More recently, the likes of Emory Douglas, Sun Ra and Orson Welles over the years helped complete the equation.
